Bournemouth Writing Festival reveals literary agents and writing professionals offering face-to-face sessions in April

The Bournemouth Writing Festival offers an invaluable opportunity for writers to connect with literary agents and publishing professionals through personalised 1-2-1 sessions. These focused consultations are a standout feature of the festival, providing writers with tailored advice on their manuscripts, query letters, and publishing strategies.

Whether you're an aspiring author seeking guidance on breaking into the industry, pitching your novel or an experienced writer fine-tuning your craft, these sessions are designed to help elevate your work. The agents and professionals at the festival represent a range of genres and offer insights into navigating the competitive publishing world. These 1-2-1s are a rare chance for Bournemouth-based writers to gain expert feedback directly from industry insiders.

The five literary agents offering 15-minute sessions are:

  • Laura Williams from Greene & Heaton

  • Megan Carroll from Watson, Little

  • Oscar Janson-Smith from his own agency, Oscar Janson-Smith

  • Saskia Leach from Kate Nash Literary Agency

  • Tanera Simons from Greenstone Literary Agent

Emma Scattergood and Morgen Bailey will be offering a writing and editing surgery respectively.

The face-to-face sessions take place on the 2nd floor of Bobbys in the heart of Bournemouth Town Centre. Literary agent sessions cost £70 whilst surgeries cost £35. Tickets are available from 13th January 2025.

Prior to your 1-2-1 session, participants are encouraged to submit their work in advance to give the professionals time to review the work to get the maximum benefit from the time.
