Volunteer Opportunities
There are loads of opportunities to get involved in the 2024 Bournemouth Writing Festival - and we need all the help we can get!

If you'd like to volunteer to help get the word out through PR, social media or partnerships then we would be delighted to speak to you. You'll be working alongside an award-winning marketing director with vast experience in visitor attractions and theme parks on strategy and positioning so if you'd like to gain experience please get in touch.

We need an army of volunteers during the three-day festival too, so if you can spare time checking people in, running the bookshop, marshalling or being a general dogsbody, then please get in touch!

Free tickets are available for all volunteers.
Genre Breakfasts
Our hugely popular "genre breakfasts" were a great success. So much so that many of the writers have kept in touch!

We'll be repeating the free-to-attend genre breakfasts in local cafes again this year. It's a chance to meet local writers writing in your genre for breakfast during the festival weekend. Foster new relationships, discuss hot topics, ask questions and maybe even create an on-going meet-up group.
We're looking for friendly, welcoming and passionate volunteers to host - to be there on arrival, break the ice and get conversations flowing. Examples of genres we had in the first festival were memoirs, writing for children, women's fiction, book club fiction and playwriting. We are open to suggestions!

Fill out the form below to get in touch and we'll set everything up. We'll be supporting our local, independent businesses again, so we will handle finding a venue.

NEW! Following feedback from our post-festival survey, we will also host informal networking lunches and dinners. This is so you can be in the company of other writers during mealtimes. There is no agenda - we'll just name a couple of restaurants and turn up to eat knowing other Festival visitors are there too. If you'd like to volunteer to meet, greet and connect people, then please get in touch!
